How it works

The trade, end to end

Two gates between the field and the payment

Closing a deal freezes the price, the volume and the quality spec into a pickup requisition. What follows are the milestones below — one of which may not happen at all — and at no point does anyone move the goalposts on what you are owed.

01

Offer and match

The deal closes, and everything freezes

A producer publishes an offer from a crop cycle, or a buyer publishes a buy request. Either side can move first, and the match is always explicit — you choose who you close with. Closing freezes the price, the volume, the quality attributes and the tolerance.

  • The market runs both ways: supply and demand each get to start the conversation.
  • No auction and no automatic matching by price — a deal exists because someone accepted a counterparty.
  • The price is frozen at close and is never indexed to an exchange afterwards.
  • Quality attributes are typed per crop: moisture, impurities, damaged and broken for grain; caliber, rot and appearance for produce.
02

Escrow

The buyer funds escrow before anyone reaches the field

The money goes into custody before pickup. No funded escrow, no pickup — that is the rule that lets a producer hand over a harvest without wondering whether the payment exists.

  • The funds sit with the platform's payment hub, never with the counterparty.
  • The pickup requisition only becomes collectable once the escrow is funded.
  • AgroEngine never lends: advancing value against product in custody is the business of accredited, licensed financiers.
  • This is the last point at which the trade can simply be called off.
03

Gate one, locks your value

The field conference fixes what the producer will receive

The transport agent checks the lot against the frozen requisition and accepts it in full, accepts it in part with the discarded volume recorded and reasoned, or refuses it. Acceptance fixes the base — accepted volume times frozen price — and transfers custody. From here your value never drops again.

  • Natural loss inside the crop's tolerance band follows the normal flow: 1.0% for grain, oilseed and fibre, 1.5% for fine grain, 3.0% for tuber and vegetable.
  • Above the band it escalates to a dispute, decided by a person at the back office and never by an algorithm.
  • A refusal opens a dispute instead of quietly unwinding the trade.
  • Every discard carries a catalogue reason and its evidence — photo or video — attached to the lot.
04

Processing Optional

Cleaning, drying, classification — when the trade calls for it

Between custody and delivery the lot may pass through a processor, and it may not: a lot can go from the field conference straight to the buyer. When it does happen, the processor must hold an active certification for that exact scope.

  • Optional by nature — nothing about the trade requires a processing step.
  • A processor without an active certification for the scope does not receive the lot.
  • Process loss belongs to the processor and never touches the producer's fixed value.
  • The lot reads as in processing, and both hand-offs are recorded on the custody chain.
05

Gate two, releases the payment

The buyer accepts, and the escrow is released

The lot is delivered, the buyer accepts, and payment is released in proportion to the accepted volume. Whatever was not accepted returns to the buyer in the same act.

  • This is the second gate: until the buyer accepts, the escrow does not move.
  • Partial acceptance pays the accepted share and refunds the rest — there is no renegotiation.
  • The buyer pays only for product that was conferred and accepted.
  • Settled: the lot closes with every volume, hand-off and responsible party on record.
Traceable chain

Who holds the lot, when, and with what evidence

You follow a custody chain, not a map. Every hand-off records who took the lot, at what volume and against what evidence, from the field conference to the buyer's acceptance.

The chain, link by link

  1. Producer
  2. Transport agent
  3. Processor (optional)
  4. Buyer

The states you see on a lot

  1. 1Pickup requested
  2. 2In custody
  3. 3In processing
  4. 4Delivered
  5. 5Accepted
  6. 6Settled

A trade can still be called off before the first gate, and a volume that is not accepted comes back to the buyer as a refund.

Process certification

Processors are audited, and the audit is public

Cleaning, drying, classification, packaging and storage are certified scope by scope by an independent certifier. A processor without an active certification for the scope simply does not receive the lot.

  • Cleaning
  • Drying
  • Classification
  • Packaging
  • Storage

Independent by design

The certifier audits the processor's processes — never a lot, never a negotiation — and a shareholding link between the two blocks the audit.

Scoped and dated

Every credential names what it covers and how long it lasts, and it is public: you can see what a processor is certified for before your lot goes there.

Process loss is theirs

Whatever is lost in processing comes out of the processor's account, not out of the producer's fixed value.

Symmetric protection

Neither side is left exposed

Between the two gates both sides answer to the same clock and the same ruler.

The delivery window cuts both ways

Between the two gates the buyer may cancel with a refund only if the agreed window is missed. A producer with product in transit is not exposed to a change of mind.

Tolerance is set per crop

The band is frozen at close and is not negotiable between the parties, so natural loss never turns into haggling at the truck.

Disputes are decided by people

A refusal, or a loss above tolerance, goes to the back office for a human decision. Nothing about your money is settled automatically.

Still wondering

Questions about the two gates

At the field conference, when the transport agent accepts the lot. The base is the accepted volume times the frozen price, and no later event lowers it.

The accepted volume goes on, and the discarded volume is recorded with a catalogue reason. Payment is released in proportion, and the unaccepted balance returns to the buyer in the same act.

The processor. Process loss never reaches the producer's fixed value.

No. Registering and publishing offers carries no fiscal requirement. A validated tax ID — or a linked company, cooperative or accredited broker — is only needed to close a sale, and which document counts depends on the country you sell from.

A person at the back office. A refusal at pickup, or a loss above the crop's tolerance, escalates to a human decision and never to an automatic rule.

No. Pickup notices, conference results and payment confirmations reach you by WhatsApp and SMS. The app is a complement, not a prerequisite.
