Ask before you sell

The questions producers and buyers actually ask

The answers below describe the mechanism, not a promise: escrow funded before pickup, a field conference that fixes what the producer receives, and a buyer acceptance that releases the payment. If your question is not here, write to us.

Getting started

Producers and buyers register on their own, at no cost and with no accreditation. Registering and publishing an offer or a buy request is free; AgroEngine only earns when a trade closes, as a commission on that trade.

Not to register and not to publish: opening an account and listing an offer or a buy request carry no fiscal requirement at all. A validated tax ID is required only at the point where you close a sale, which is when an invoice exists. Which document that is depends on the country you sell from. If you do not have one, you close through a linked company, a cooperative or an accredited broker.

Transport agents, processors, certifiers, financiers, cooperatives, warehouses and brokers are accredited through the back office rather than by self-registration, because each one takes on a role in the custody chain. Write to us and we will start the accreditation.

The catalogue opens with fifteen crops: soybean, maize, wheat, rice, sunflower, sorghum, common bean, peanut, sesame, chia, cassava, potato, onion, tomato and cotton. Grain and oilseed are displayed by the tonne, the rest by the kilogram, and adding a crop is a catalogue entry rather than a new release.

Money

Two moments decide it. The field conference fixes the amount: accepted volume times the price frozen at close. The buyer's acceptance releases it. Between the two, the figure does not move, whatever happens to the lot.

The buyer places the payment in custody before anyone drives to the field, and the platform's payment hub holds it. Without a funded escrow there is no pickup. The money is not a deposit or an investment and bears no interest for either side; it is released by acceptance and by nothing else.

The accepted volume goes on and the discarded volume is recorded with a catalogue reason and its evidence. Payment is released in proportion to what was accepted, and the balance returns to the buyer in the same act. There is no renegotiation.

A commission on the closed trade, shown to you before you close it. There is no subscription, no charge to publish an offer or a buy request, and no charge for the custody chain or the escrow.

Quality and trust

Each crop has a tolerance band frozen at close: 1.0% for grain, oilseed and fibre, 1.5% for fine grain, 3.0% for tuber and vegetable. Loss inside the band follows the normal flow and is nobody's fault. Above it, the case escalates to a dispute.

The processor. Processing is optional, only a processor certified for that exact scope may receive the lot, and whatever is lost on the way out comes off their account, never off the producer's fixed value.

A person at the back office, on the evidence recorded on the lot. A refusal at pickup and a loss above the tolerance band both escalate to that human decision, never to an automatic rule.

You follow the custody chain, not a map: every hand-off records who took the lot, at what volume and against what evidence, from the field conference to the buyer's acceptance. There is no GPS tracking and no route planning.

The processes of a processor, with a named scope and a validity date, audited by an independent certifier who never sees a lot or a negotiation. A certifier with a shareholding link to the processor is blocked from auditing it. No one certifies a lot.

Data and channels

No. Pickup notices, conference results and payment confirmations reach you by WhatsApp and SMS, and you choose the channel, the hours and the frequency. The app is a complement, not a prerequisite.

It runs your operation and it feeds two things: a harvest forecast that gets better with every season you record, and an anonymous regional comparison that needs at least five producers per cell before it is published. Nothing is sold. There are no sensors and no satellites either: every field figure is one you declared.

Not today. The platform never lends its own capital. Advancing value against product already in custody is the business of accredited, licensed financiers, and that flow is still in regulatory structuring.
